Applications submitted online through the official NTA website. Students provide name, age, class, category, school preference, and required documents before the deadline — usually October to November.
Conducted offline by NTA in January. Objective/MCQ format. No negative marking. Class 6 — 125 questions for 300 marks (150 min). Class 9 — 150 questions for 400 marks (180 min).
Qualified candidates are called for a medical test that checks physical fitness, eyesight, and hearing. Young Star prepares students for this stage through regular physical training and health awareness.
Shortlisted students appear for a personal interview assessing personality, confidence, communication skills, and general awareness. Young Star provides dedicated interview coaching for this stage.
Final selection based on merit — combining written exam score, medical fitness, and interview performance. Category-wise merit lists are prepared and results declared by the respective Sainik Schools.
Selected students receive admission letters from their chosen Sainik School. Documents required include birth certificate, school certificates, category certificate, and medical fitness reports.
The Sainik School admission process for girls is the same as for boys — AISSEE written exam + medical + interview. Seats for girls are currently limited: out of 100 seats, 20 are reserved for girls and 80 for boys. This makes early, structured preparation even more critical. Young Star provides dedicated coaching and hostel facilities for girls — a safe, focused, and nurturing environment.
Candidates must be between 10 and 12 years as on 31 March of the admission year. Must have passed or be studying in Class V at a recognised school when applying for AISSEE.
Candidates must be between 13 and 15 years as on 31 March of the admission year. Must have passed or be studying in Class VIII at a recognised school when applying.
The AISSEE 2026 is conducted offline. Every question is objective / multiple-choice. There is no negative marking for wrong or unanswered questions — attempt every question without hesitation.
Students must score at least 25% in each subject and an overall aggregate of 40% in the AISSEE. No minimum qualifying marks apply for SC/ST category students.
GK (25 questions) + Mathematics (50 questions) + Language (25 questions) + Intelligence (25 questions). Total: 125 questions for 300 marks. Duration: 150 minutes.
